Celebrating St George’s Day and the most iconic and ironic English historic and modern traditions, from donkey rides to helter skelter, live music and a George and the Dragon show, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
With an action-packed programme there will be plenty to choose from for the whole family. With a funfair, car displays, live shows and even an opportunity to get your picture with a look-a-like Queen!

There will be several Punch and Judy shows throughout the day. Timings for these are: 11:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm
This year there will be Pig races taking place every hour of the festival. The exact times are :11:30am, 12:15pm, 1pm, 2:15pm, 3pm and 3:45pm

As this year marks the platinum jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen, some of the festivities will have a jubilee-themed twist.
There will be a cake decorating competition themed around the jubilee where you can display your creativity. Cakes need to be entered and left at the WI tea tent by 12pm. Judging by the public is until 3pm, then the results will be announced on the bandstand stage at 3.35pm.
Parking Options
New for '22 - Nu-Venture shuttle bus to The English Festival
A shuttle bus will run every 30 minutes from the following locations: Chatham Bus Station (stop C16), Medway Park, Jeffery Street, Richmond Road (Trinity Road stop), The Strand and Riverside Country Park. Return in reverse. Cost and terms are the same as the Park and Ride.
Buses return from Riverside Country Park – first bus at 11am, 11.30am, then every 30 mins. Last bus at 6pm.
